Tempe, AZ Nathan's Qualifier Results

Results for the Nathan's qualifier in Tempe Saturday, June 3, 2006

IFOCE Rankings in parenthesis:

1st - Rich the Locust LeFevre (5) - 28 HDBs
2nd - Erik the Red Denmark (26) - 19 HDBs
*3rd - Russell the Black Hole Blackwell (NR) - 13 HDBs
*Skinnyboy Andrew Lane (28) may have eaten 14 HDBs for 3rd, but was credited 9

One more hot dog. One more hot dog. One more hot dog. One more hot dog.

Well, one more would have at least given me my first deuce but it would not have won the contest. This was Rich LeFevre's contest to lose as I am not quite ready to get close to 30 HDBs in 12 minutes. I am feeling much more comfortable with hot dogs now and I feel confident that my next attempt will take me over 20, and after that who knows? I only have one more shot this season to reach my goal of making it to Coney on the 4th of July so I will be putting it all on the table, I mean in my stomach, on June 24th in San Francisco.

Read interview's by me and Rich LeFevre about the event on the Digest at Urban Honking.com

There will also be a story with live interviews (by Rich and me) from Arizona channel 3 that should be posted at http://www.azfamily.com on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Hey Eric,if I can make it to Vegas this weekend I'd love it to give you a run for your money, because grilled cheese tends to be one of my many many favorites.

. I underatand Pat Bertoletti is going to be there as well. I'd love to compete head on with this man as well. Only one thing, if Joey Chestnut shows up, we're all in trouble.

* If anyone would like to take the time to to check it out, I wrote a short piece on my blog spot, http://russellblackwell.blogspot.com/ about a little bit of my "unofficial eating history".

Sorry about the duplicate post. I was under the impression that I was "editing" my first post for a few minor errors, not throwing out the same text, nearly word for word.

Yes a video would be cool hpk.
